Memolane is an web application that turns all of your tweets, facebook posts, picasa pictures, youtube videos etc. into a timeline that you can easily search. Alongside the currently supported services such as Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Picasa, Last.fm, Foursquare, Instagram, Tripit, YouTube, myspace, vimeo and wordpress, you can also add RSS-feeds.

Many people have been trying to get rid of their Facebook accounts, and have found that Facebook is not that keen on letting you go. In fact, most of us will be able to use the “Deactivate account” option under Account > Application settings, but this just makes your account dormant. Log into it again, and it will be automatically activated.

But what if you really want to get rid of Facebook then? Head over to https://ssl.facebook.com/help/contact.php?show_form=delete_account.  You’ll get a page where you can choose to permanently delete the account. Just make sure you don’t log in for 14 days, and then everything will be gone for ever. (And yes, your friends will probably miss you.)

WordPress 3.0 has been released for quite a while now, but you know what we’re really missing out on, over here at Let’s Learn IT? We want *integration* ! Why is there still no plugin (that works) which can connect this site with, say, Facebook or so?

Ping.fm has support for the wordpress.com sites, but not for the wordpress.org sites (which is what we use). They’ve promised us that they’re working on a solution, though. Nice folks, those at Ping.fm.

Het heeft een tijdje geduurd, maar nu is het dan toch zo ver: Photoshop is nu ook online beschikbaar in een Express editie. Wanneer u een account aanmaakt, krijgt u meteen de mogelijkheid een URL te specifiëren waarop u uw foto’s kunt neerploffen -u krijgt zo maar eventjes 2 Gb ter beschikking, wat ook zeker niet slecht is. De tool zelf ligt volledig in de lijn van Adobe’s Elements-serie, die the greatest happiness for the greatest number onderschrijft: het is een gebruiksvriendelijke omgeving met een lage instapdrempel, waarbij u heel snel de meest voorkomende fotobewerkingshandelingen kunt verrichten: exposure regelen, contrast bepalen, fill light toevoegen, etc. etc. Daarbij wordt telkens gebruik gemaakt van een slider bovenaan het scherm, waaraan ook thumbnail-voorbeelden zijn gekoppeld, een beetje volgens het variation-principe binnen grote broer Photoshop.

Helemaal op punt staat het ding ook nog niet, me dunkt -een stomme jpg van een paar kb werd herhaaldelijk geweigerd bij het uploaden. O ja, je kunt ook foto’s importeren uit Picasa, Photobucket en Facebook. Wat wil een mens nog meer?
